Farming for All Abilities
Welcome to the farm
You’ve just opened the door to your new favorite way to connect with the land, each other, and new skills, all made possible by Resiliency Farm. Since 2019, we have dedicated our space and time to supporting people of all abilities in accessing agricultural therapy through guided projects, farming, and skill building—also known as Care Farming! By cultivating both the land and our partnerships, we foster the development of a wide range of skills, from social skills to functional career skills.
As a veteran-owned plant nursery and care farm, we
invite everyone to be a part of our community!

Our Mission at Resiliency Farm
Our mission is simple: to provide resources and education for people living with disabilities who are exploring potential careers or shifts into agriculture, as well as those who simply want to grow their own food.
Our primary goal is to always be safe, be kind, and be respectful—to everyone, everything, everywhere.
Meet Matt,
Founder of Resiliency Farm
Matt grew up in York, PA, and developed a passion for the sciences during his early educational years. From wrestling and football in high school, he always helped students and teachers alike and enjoyed extending his support to everyone. He went on to earn a BS in Kinesiology from Penn State University and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he trained as a medical laboratory technician. He later completed an AS in Medical Laboratory Sciences. After his time in the Army, Matt returned to Pennsylvania in 2016 and began studying horticulture in 2017.
Meet Aksel
Aksel is an important part of the Resiliency Farm story. He has been working and learning on the farm almost since the beginning and is always willing to help Matt keep things running smoothly. Aksel loves to grow his skills almost as much as he loves to grow plants. The two get up to some fun things while working, and when the weather doesn’t allow them to be outside, they’re inside working on their indoor plants—one of Aksel’s favorite things!

You’re Invited to Grow Too!
There’s something to do at the farm, regardless of your level of ability. Through these activities, we learn how to communicate in new ways all while producing something beautiful. We believe that people of all abilities can benefit from participating at the farm.

Agriculture Education & Therapy

At the farm, we teach you how to work with plants and animals to cultivate an environment of growth. These skills apply to so many other areas of life, providing unique lessons for those who participate.
Community Integration

Without farms, life wouldn’t be possible. By getting hands-on with this essential part of the community, you will have the chance to cultivate new connections. You can often find us out and about talking about plants and animals at events and other farm-related happenings!

Professional Skills

Growing professional skills in nature is something that we think is profound. Oftentimes, the small tasks needed at the farm translate to functional career skills in the future. We ensure a laid-back and supportive space to learn more about what you’re good at!
We Grow Plants… and People!
Together, we know that we can achieve new things and create winning moments on the farm. Learn more about sustainable farming, environment positive initiatives, and pick up a new trade or two whenever you’re free. We welcome all visitors and are more than happy to help you reach some new goals!
